I’m looking for flavor profile and method. I’m thinking smoked would be the only way to make this taste coherent but maybe frying could?

Smoked would probably be the best since it’s a lower heat. That “turkraken” is a really funny image but I’m pretty sure that baking octopus long enough in order for the turkey to cook through will make vulcanized rubber.

This should be a thing. Who has the recipe?

This would absolutely be doable, but you’d have to approach it like a novelty/competition cake and not like what it’s pretending to be. Cook different parts different ways at different times, put it all together at the end, and use dyes, dowels, and general trickery to get it all “in position”. It would be edible, and if you did it cleverly enough, as long as people at it piece by piece instead of combined bites of both, you might even get folks to think it tastes good.

Putting the Octopus in the Turkussy is diabolical

I’ve seen Tentai with less tentacles in one hole than that turkey

Funny but definitely stupid, a complete waste of food. The turkey is going to taste like smoked fish assholes, and the octopus will have the texture of a sous vide hockey puck.

  11. I wonder if stuffing it all the way in would have been better food-wise.

    Cthulhu has entered the chat.
